Principal's Message

Welcome to Thomas Edison Language Institute’s New School Year! 

I am so honored to be supporting the entire Thomas Edison community.  Thomas Edison is a very unique school that supports both Dual Immersion (Spanish/English) and English Immersion (English only) programs.   I know your child’s experiences at Thomas Edison will set them up for success long after they leave us for bigger and brighter things.  Your child’s education is what I am most committed to. 

Our staff is working diligently to continue with the implementation of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), Social Justice Standards along with San Juan’s 8 point Commitment for Equity, and enhancing our use of technology throughout the school day.   We are continuing our equity work by teaming up with Dr. Gholdy Mohammad, a renowned educator who focuses on student engagement and rigor.  We are using iReady online as a support for math and ELA and the program allows both parents and teachers to monitor student progress at their individual level. Our outstanding team of teachers is working hard to collaborate and ensure that we have rigorous programs TK-8. 

Our school goal for attendance this year is 100%. Please help us by making sure your child is on time and ready to learn.  I am here to support you if you need anything.
